About Us
Millions of women in the US are affected by incontinence. Over 60% of menopausal women develop urinary incontinence, 15% percent develop anal incontinence and 11 percent undergo surgical repair of their prolapse problems. The "Women's Pelvic Health & Continence Center" is dedicated to the confidential evaluation, assessment and treatment of these common disorders. We provide a comprehensive approach to pelvic floor disorders for women of all ages including the Forget-Me-Not-Program.
Many, but not all of these conditions, are related to pregnancy. 20% of women develop urinary incontinence after a single vaginal delivery and 5% develop it even with a C-section. Other risk factors include multiple births, age, genetics, race, hysterectomy, obesity and pelvic muscle weakness. Women of all ages can experience weakening of their pelvic support. As the weakening progresses, symptoms grow worse.
There are many solutions to these problems including non-surgical and surgical.
